Conceptual Ink and Ai Artist
Dark Forces is a project by Kevin Russell. His work has been described as 'gothic chic' and ‘oblique pop mashups’. Kevins influences include fanzine art, sci-fi themes, b-movie tropes and Japanese tattoo design, mixing surrealism with pop culture iconography.
He's a London based Creative Director/artist, living and working in Hackney. London is a creative powerhouse and he's fortunate enough to be in the middle of it all. Kevin is never at a loss for places, events and things to do and people to meet. All of these things effect his work either directly or by chance. He wakes up everyday wanting to create stuff, everything else in his life tends to get in the way.
Kevin goes through phases of being obsessed with concepts rather that artists. He's currently into comics, specifically 2000AD and world building, which has led to his heavy fascination with Ai. It provides life to all those ideas within his head which he never found enough time to explore or express. Creating world's and environments from his imagination provides Kevin with a great sense of enjoyment.
Art is essential to the human experience. It’s a privilege to be able to create something that gives others joy or causes them to think in a new way. It might be of small importance, however, these little experiences add up if we all play our part.
