Tattoo Artist & Digital Painter
Wayne's creative background started as a child, drawing comic illustrations with his cousin who was an illustrator. He painted at school and was drawn to comic art over anything else, due to his love for superheroes.
Later in his life he became a tattoo artist, One that revolutionised tattooing as we now know it, he can still hear the old timers commenting on his work saying that won’t hold without an outline, but they did. Wayne's generation took sticker style tattoos and full on portraiture to the next level enabling what you see in tattoo studios today. Tattooing is actually what has fuelled his passion for the art he does today. Did you know that most tattooers are also painters.
Wayne likes seeing something turn from a basic flat, to shapes, to layers and then into images. he's been drawn to digital painting and has started experimenting, he states his favourite medium is digital oils. He's not a patient person and the work needed to paint in traditional oils has more than halted him in the past so he decided to try digital oils instead. he likes the fact that painting provided him the freedom to make mistakes, where as tattooing is the complete opposite.
He states inspiration is all around us, generally he doesn’t look for it, he just lets it happen, it’s much more natural that way. Wayne's artistic influences are Chris Guest, Joshua Carlton and Chris Meighan.
